Effective December 31, 2014
Effective Date (see Schedule below): December 31, 2014
Impact Statement: A review of all Listing Reports currently certified to only CSA C22.2 No. 12 is necessary to identify nightlight certifications which will need to be evaluated and moved to CSA C22.2 No. 256. If a CSA C22.2 No. 12 Certified nightlight is also dual listed to UL 1786, it can be immediately moved to CSA C22.2 No. 256-05 as it is a harmonized bi-national standard with UL 1786. NOTE: Effective immediately, nightlights are evaluated and certified to CSA C22.2 No. 256-05.
Overview of Changes: New/revised requirements were included in CSA C22.2 No. 256 (harmonized and bi-national with UL 1786) when published in December 2005. Specific details of new/revised requirements are found in table below.
Schedule: So that shipping of products with Listing Marks will not be interrupted, an approximate schedule has been established to ensure Listing Reports are found compliant by Effective Date:
- July 31, 2014 = 5 Month Quote Cut-off – Quotes returned for necessary re-evaluations
- November 30, 2014 = 30 Day Warning – Client advised of all non-compliant Reports to be Suspended
- December 31, 2014 = Effective Date – ATM Suspended for all non-compliant Reports
Fees: A quote will be prepared for the necessary re-evaluation and test of nightlights of any currently certified to CSA C22.2 No. 12 for the move to CSA C22.2 No. 256-05 listings.
Client Action Required:
