Impact Statement: A review of all Listing Reports is necessary to determine which products comply with new/revised requirements and which products will require re-evaluation. NOTE: Effective immediately, this revised standard will be exclusively used for evaluation of new products unless the Applicant requests in writing that current requirements be used along with their understanding that their listings will be withdrawn on Effective Date of October 3, 2016 unless the product is found to comply with new/revised requirements.

Processing Schedule: So that production of products bearing Listing Marks will not be interrupted, the following schedule of approximate dates has been established to ensure Listing Reports are found compliant by Effective Date:
- February 1, 2016 = 8 Month Report Review – Intertek will review all Reports. Update if compliance is verified or issue Findings Letter/Quote for any re-evaluations needed
- April 1, 2016 = 6 Month Quote Cut-off – Quotes returned for necessary re-evaluations
- September 2, 2016 = 30 Day Warning – Client advised of all non-compliant Reports to be Suspended
- October 3, 2016 = Effective Date – ATM Suspended for all non-compliant Reports

| 4.19.2 | The appliance shall bear the following information on a Class III marking affixed to the principal (main) assembly of the appliance and shall be attached or printed in a location where it can be easily observed or is accessible for observation when the appliance is installed as it would be in service. a) The manufacturer’s or distributor’s name and address. b) The manufacturer's or distributor's model number of the appliance. c) A distinctive number that will identify an individual appliance. d) For appliances for fixed fuel piping system and equipped with an appliance gas pressure regulator, the normal manifold pressure in inches water column. e) For appliances for use with a fixed fuel piping system and equipped with an appliance gas pressure regulator, the minimum permissible gas supply pressure for purpose of input adjustment. f) Type of gas for which equipped: “Natural or Propane.” g) The statement “For Outdoor Use Only. If Stored Indoors, Detach and Leave Cylinder Outdoors.” The marking for an appliance for connection to a fixed fuel piping system need only display the first sentence of this statement. h) If the appliance utilizes any electrical equipment, the voltage, frequency (Hz), and total current input in amperes. If the total current input of all components is less than 12 amperes, the input marking may optionally be shown as “Less than _____* amperes.” * This amperage rating shall be equal to or greater than the total input in amperes. i) Identification of this requirement as follows: “ANS Z21.97–(year) • CSA 2.41-(year), Outdoor Decorative Gas Appliances”. j) Symbol of the testing agency. | |
| 4.19.16 | Appliances complying with Causes 5.20.4 and 5.20.5 shall bear a Class IIIA-2 marking, located where it can be easily read: a) showing the manufacturer’s recommended position, including dimensions of the appliance, its supply cylinder, and hose routing, and a minimum warning label advising the end user of the potential hazard of placing the cylinder too close to the appliance; and b) containing the following: “The instruction manual contains important information necessary for the proper assembly and safe use of the appliance.” “Read and follow all warnings and instructions before assembling and using the appliance.” “Follow all warnings and instructions when using the appliance.” “If instructions or parts are missing, contact _______________.” | |
| 5.13 | Dual cylinder manifold A manifold for appliances designed to be fueled by two 20 lb (9.1 kg) cylinders shall have inlet ports for the connection of gas supply lines from two propane gas cylinders and a single outlet connection port. The manifold assembly shall be designed so that there will be no flow of gas from its outlet unless a cylinder containing gas is connected to both inlet connections and both cylinder valves are opened. The manifold shall not allow gas to flow through its inlet if either cylinder is empty or the valve of either cylinder is closed. | |
| 5.15.1 | If the appliance has a ventilating opening(s), the register(s), if provided, shall be set in the position resulting in the most severe temperature condition. An appliance for connection to a refillable self-contained propane gas supply system shall have the gas from the supply cylinder(s) purged outside of the test structure at a rate equal to the manufacturer’s specified hourly input rate of the appliance within ±5 percent for determining compliance with Clause 4.11.14. This test shall be started with the propane gas cylinder(s) filled to rated capacity. The pressure relief valve shall not activate to discharge test gas during the conduct of this test.
