Australia – Announces Repeal of Consolidated Consumer Goods (Self-balancing Scooters) Amendment Safety Standard 2019

UPDATE TO INSIGHT VOL. 1072

The Australia Government has repealed the previously announced Consumer Goods (Self-balancing Scooters) Amendment Safety Standard 2019, effective 10 April 2019. The Government has instead issued a compilation of the Consumer Goods (Self-balancing Scooters) Safety Standard 2018, which consolidated the Consumer Goods (Self-balancing Scooters) Amendment Safety Standard 2019.

The purpose of the amendment is to change the deadline of the effective date and the section number of UL 2272, with which a self-balancing scooter shall comply. Please refer to our Insight Insight Vol. 1072 for the consolidated information.
