Results of China Market Textile and Footwear Spot Checks in Dec 2016

Infant Wear
The Heilongjiang and Guangxi Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for infant wear in December 2016.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” FZ/T 73025-2013 “Knitted garment and adornment for infant” and FZ/T 81014-2008 “Infant’s wear.” The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to saliva, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to dry cleaning and fiber content.
The inspection included 400 batches of samples from all over the country. Of those, 40 batches failed. In the Henan Province, 25 batches were inspected and 8 batches failed.
Primary failed items: pH value and fiber content
Bedding Articles
In December 2016, the Henan, Jiangxi, Shanghai and Heilongjiang Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a country-wide special product quality supervision and inspection for bedding articles.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18383-2007 "General technical requirements for products with filling materials" and GB18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products.” The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to saliva, fiber content and filling materials.
During the inspection, in the Henan Province 20 batches of samples were inspected and 6 batches failed. In the Jiangxi Province, 35 batches were inspected and19 batches failed. In the Shanghai Province, 90 batches of samples of were inspected and 24 batches failed. Of the 512 batches inspected throughout the rest of the country, 90 batches failed.
Primary failed items: pH value and fiber content and banned Azo dyestuff
Student Wear
In December 2016, the Henan, Chongqing and Guizhou Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for student wear.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 "National general safety technical code for textile products," GB/T 23328-2009 "Woven Garments for Students" and QB/T 22854-2009 "Knitted School Uniform."
The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to rubbing, label, fiber content, seam strength at back rise and stability to washing.
In the Henan Province, 24 batches were inspected and all passed. In the Chongqing Province, 30 batches were inspected and 3 batches failed. In the Guizhou Province, 5 batches were inspected and 1 batch failed.
Primary failed items: fiber content and colorfastness
Casual Wear
In December 2016, the Henan and Guizhou Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for casual wear.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 "National general safety technical code for textile products."
The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, label and fiber content.
The spot check inspected 2 batches in the Henan Province, all batches passed. In the Guizhou Province, 5 batches were inspected and 1 batch failed.
Primary failed items: pH value, colorfastness to dry rubbing and colorfastness to water
Footwear
In December 2016, the Jiangsu and Beijing Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for the footwear.
The spot check inspected 34 failed batches in the Beijing Province, and 21 batches of a total 30 batches in the Jiangsu Province failed.
The failed items identified in the spot check were label, appearance, sole loading, whole shoe flexing, shank and physical items.
