Turkey – Risk-based Import Control System (GTIB-IRIS) Consumer Product Audits

On April 30, 2016, Turkey’s Ministry of Customs and Trade announced that the Turkish Ministry of Economy published an announcement concerning the auditing of imported consumer products, with issue No 29699. The effective date of this announcement was May 2, 2016.
The purpose of this announcement is to set forth the procedures and principles with regard to the auditing of compliance with the regulations (human health, security of life and property, protection of environment and consumers) for the below products according to below regulations/notifications.
- Announcement for the market surveillance and control of the hazardous chemical substance content of the consumer products (issued on 14.01.2015, with official gazette #29236)
- Announcement on determination of safety risk of consumer products (issued on 20.04.2012 with official gazette #28270 with amendment on 03.05.2016, #29701)
- Announcement on control of some consumer products for conformity (issued on 03.05.2016, with official gazette #29701)
