Results of China Market Textile and Footwear Spot Checks in August 2015

Schoolbags
The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for schoolbags. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; 10 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to QB/T 1333-2010 “Handbag and knapsack,” QB/T 2858-2007 “Schoolbags,” GB 20400-2006 “Leather and fur – Limit of harmful matter” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were appearance, label, the wheel and extendable handle of travel draw-bar satchel, capability of carry case (comfort, shoulder straps, carrying handle), loading swing, test method of fall down, shock impact strength, accessories, zipper durability, seam strength, colorfastness to rubbing (staining), corrosion resistance, anti-corrosion of metal accessories, harmful substance limitation for adhesive (formaldehyde content, AZO), migrating elements.
Primary failed items: shock impact strength and seam strength.
Sunglasses
The Shaanxi Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for sunglasses. The spot check inspected 101 batches of samples; 18 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 13511.1-2011 “Assembled spectacles,” GB/T 14214-2004 “Spectacle frames – General requirements and test methods,” QB 2457-1999 “Sunglasses” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were defects and surface quality, difference of spherical power, difference of cylinder power, difference of prismatic power, quality of assembly, luminous transmittance, relative deviation of luminous transmittance, mean transmittance (UV spectrum), chromaticity coordinates, traffic signal transmittance, anti UV performance, impact resistance and label.
Primary failed items: difference of spherical power, difference of cylinder power, luminous transmittance, traffic signal transmittance, anti UV performance, relative deviation of luminous transmittance and label.
Adult Footwear and Bedding
The Beijing Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for adult footwear and bedding.

The Jiangsu Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for anti-UV garments. The spot check inspected 82 batches of samples; 36 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest – Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were label, formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to light and fiber content.
Primary failed items: colorfastness to light, fiber content and label.
Garments
The Sichuan Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for garments. 72 batches were found unqualified.
Primary failed items: fiber content, pH value, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to rubbing and label.
