Intertek Philippines’ Government and Trade Services – Importer and Government Office GTS-IGO handles all the Exports of Bulk and Break Bulk shipments to the Philippines. All exports of bulk and break-bulk cargo to the Philippines are required by the Bureau of Customs of the Republic of the Philippines to be surveyed by an accredited cargo surveying company such as Intertek.
Assessment or more commonly known as the Load Port Survey, performed primarily at the country of export, is carried out to determine the correct dutiable weight, quantity, description of goods and/or cargo make or quality.
Upon satisfactory findings, a Load Port Survey Report (LPSR) will be issued to the Bureau of Customs. This report (LPSR) will allow the importer to take advantage of the Advance Customs Clearance Procedure. Shipments arriving without the LPSR will be subjected to a comprehensive cargo survey at the Port of discharge and the importer may incur a penalty.
Intertek Philippines is an accredited cargo surveying company under the Bureau of Customs’ Bulk and Break Bulk Cargo Clearance Enhancement Program pursuant to Administrative Order 243-A (AO 243-A) series of 2009. Intertek GTS Philippines IGO manages this program on behalf of the Intertek Group.
Intertek Philippines’ Government and Trade Services - Customer Service Center (GTS-CSC) offers the issuance of Certificates of Conformity to show the quality and safety of products imported into the Philippines in line with Governments Standards to enable Customs clearance to Countries like Algeria, Bangladesh, Botswana, Cameroon, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Kurdistan, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Conformity Assessment Programs ensure that products are fully tested in accredited laboratories and a certificate of conformity (CoC) issued before they are shipped by exporters or manufacturers to the country which has a program. Exporters have to supply test reports and shipments have to be inspected before the Certificate of Conformity issued by GTS only. The CoC is required to enable clearance in the country of destination by the importers.
