Intertek Expands Agricultural Testing Services in the United States

New Orleans – Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has expanded its laboratory space and upgraded equipment to enhance its agricultural testing services in the U.S. These expansions will allow the company to offer new capabilities to the agricultural industry, while also improving upon previously offered services through faster turnaround times and more efficient solutions.
With the expanded services, Intertek will add microbiology and pesticide residue testing capabilities, previously available only through outsourcing. The microbiology capabilities can be used to analyze grains, water and food products for safety and quality. The pesticide residue testing targets compounds in fruits and vegetables to detect the presence of chemicals. By bringing these solutions in house, Intertek can provide results more quickly, at a lower cost to the customer.
In addition to the new capabilities, Intertek has implemented new equipment to test dietary fiber quicker than traditionally done through wet chemistry; automated its wet chemistry methods for faster turnaround times; and enhanced its testing of protein, nitrogen and combo analysis in agricultural products with new and improved technologies.

The expanded services are the result of laboratory expansions made throughout the year and new equipment and technology installed this fall at the New Orleans laboratory.
