Intertek Vietnam Expands Capabilities and Capacities with New Office Location

Cater to fast-growing local market with robust export growth
(Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) Intertek, a leading global Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce an expansion in its textiles and footwear capabilities with the relocation of a new office in Ho Chi Minh City. The 2,700m2 premises will house a larger Softlines and chemical laboratory, enabling Intertek to meet the growing demand from Vietnam’s manufacturing industry and global sourcing.
The expanded floor area will enable the Ho Chi Minh City laboratory to offer a greater Softlines testing capability, including UV Light Accelerated testing, Hydrostatic testing, Drying Rate testing and Water Vapor Permeability testing. The increase in the testing equipment’s capacity such as tensile machines, pilling machines, vamp flexing machines and bally flexing machines will allow the laboratory to deliver faster turnaround times. The office is now capable of performing full wastewater testing per the industry body’s requirement, safeguarding the safety of textiles and footwear manufacturing at different stages.
An opening ceremony, held on 24th May, was presided over by Mr. Dang Quoc Quan, Chief Representative of Southern Vietnam - Bureau of Accreditation Vietnam (BOA), Mr. Rajesh Saigal, Executive Vice President - South & South-East Asia, Intertek Group, and Mr. Nguyen Nam Thanh, Country Managing Director, Intertek Vietnam. The ceremony was attended by over 40 representatives from trade associations, leading retailers, brands, apparel and footwear manufacturers. Mr. Saigal delivered a presentation on the expanded capabilities of the Ho Chi Minh City operations, and guests were given a tour of the new facilities. During the ceremony, Intertek Vietnam was presented with the Certificate of Accreditation of ISO/IEC 17025 in Mechanical and Chemical from the Bureau of Accreditation (BOA) of Vietnam.
