Intertek appoints new director to drive E&P business

Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has appointed Neil Cousland as Business Development Director for its Exploration and Production (E&P) business line.
From the firm’s Aberdeen base, Mr Cousland will build on the successes of Intertek E&P, which employs more than 600 scientific and technical personnel across 11 countries.
Mr Cousland joins from Champion Technologies where he worked for almost ten years in positions including Business Development Manager and UK Business Manager. He has 20 years’ experience in the energy and chemicals sectors.
His initial focus will be on the North Sea region, with this subsequently expanding to incorporate a wider global remit. He will also be involved in developing Intertek’s service offering to augment the existing strong relationships the organisation has with key oil and gas companies, as well as reaching new client bases.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Cousland said: “I am excited about this new challenge and look forward to bolstering the favourable position Intertek has in the oil and gas market. It is exciting to be part of expanding the business and shaping the future growth of the company.

Originally from Edinburgh, Mr Cousland gained a BSc in Geology at St Andrews University. He began his career in the gas sector, where he held a number of sales and operations roles before moving into the chemicals industry.
