Intertek representatives will present new automotive composites services in Europe during VDI “Plastics in Automotive Engineering” conference 2014

Geleen, Netherlands – Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, will highlight its new European automotive composites test facilities during the prominent VDI “Plastics in Automotive Engineering” conference on April 2nd and 3rd 2014 in Mannheim, Germany.
The functionality and usage of composites in automotive engineering is expanding rapidly and there is a growing need for development work to support diverse applications and production. As a result, the demand for independent composites testing expertise using specialized test equipment and test processes to meet these requirements has also increased.
Intertek’s Country Managing Director for the Benelux region, Eric Ris, said: “Driven by the need for sustainable and lightweight materials the demand for independent composites testing facilities by the automotive materials industry is growing. Following on from the expansion of our automotive composites testing facility in the US in 2010, we have extended this service into Europe and are now able to provide global support to the automotive polymers and composites industries.”
