Intertek Inaugurates Electronic and Electrical Testing Lab in Mumbai, India

Mumbai, India - Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, has opened its first testing laboratory for electronic and electrical products in Mumbai, India. The new laboratory will provide enhanced testing services to customers across diverse industries.
Intertek’s expertise in the Electronic & Electrical sector includes domestic appliances, consumer electronics, automotive components, HVAC, monitors, telecom equipment, power supplies for IT applications, industrial controllers, general purpose luminaries, lighting, semiconductor equipment, TV receivers, pumps, and lab equipment. Intertek also provides product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and specialized telecommunications testing and certification services, ensuring that manufacturers are able to comply with the widest range of international standards and end-user requirements.
Intertek conducts electrical safety testing to ANSI/UL, CSA, NFPA, IEC, EN and other standards, EMC testing to local and global requirements, benchmarking and performance testing, environmental compliance such as RoHS, energy efficiency testing such as the ErP Directive, and turnkey certification management.
“This is our second lab launched in Mumbai in the last three months and will cater to the certification of a range of products to Indian, International, European and North American standards. We have a strategic think-tank at the senior level to devise ways to add value to our customers. With a team of well trained engineers, state-of-the-art testing equipment and online support from our overseas laboratories, we work to ensure that our client’s satisfaction and delivery needs are met,” said Mr. Paul Yao, Executive Vice President, Intertek Group.
Safety is crucial to any electrical and electronic product or unit operation. To help make these processes safer, Intertek’s Safety Testing Laboratory focuses on the safe handling of certain electronic and electrical products and their efficiency.
“This lab compliments our safety and testing certification for a variety of products, and is well equipped to characterize materials and determine their critical properties. We provide clients with highly sophisticated testing and certification services throughout the product lifecycle for electrical, electronics and industrial machinery products.
