Intertek Shanghai recently welcomed a delegation from the Cambodia government, led by Senior Minister of Commerce Dr. Cham Prasidh. The officials met with Paul Yao, Group Executive Vice President of Intertek, and senior management from Intertek China to discuss collaborating on quality, safety, trading and technical issues. As a result of the meeting, Cambodia expressed interest in partnering with Intertek to provide the total solutions for Cambodian manufacturing and trade. The delegation was impressed with Intertek's global reach, localized response speed, leading service concept and creative solutions, to help promote Cambodian economic development.
During the presentation, Cambodia learned about Intertek’s business scope and ability to serve as a provider of not only testing and certification services, but also Intertek’s solutions to help clients manage risk and achieve compliance throughout product life cycles and each stage of the supply chain. The delegation also toured the laboratory, where they learned about how the instruments and equipment operate.
Dr. Prasidh said, "Issues surrounding the quality and safety of products play a very important role in Cambodian manufacturing and development. They not only affect the export volume, but also affect the development of Cambodian industry and its economy. I believe Intertek can offer great support on all these aspects, including product safety and quality testing and certification services, as well as the advisory services for Cambodian manufacturers and traders in order to help them understand the international standards and regulations, enhance the advantages of their products and the reputation of ‘made in Cambodia,’ sharpen the competitive edge and finally achieve the prosperity in manufacturing."
