Intertek to host a REACH webinar for North American chemical exporters and manufacturers

Intertek (www.intertek.com) is pleased to host a free online REACH webinar on November 28th, 2007 to address the questions and concerns of North American chemical exporters, manufacturers and formulators with regard to Europe's chemical directive. "REACH Beyond Borders" will provide North American chemical exporters, manufacturers and formulators with an overview of their obligations under Europe's REACH Regulation, ranging from the pre-registration of "phase-in" substances to the option of "only representation".
The EU REACH Regulation will see the registration of some 30,000 substances over 11 years. Unregistered chemicals will be banned from sale, manufacture, or import in the European Union. Given the scope, and the consequences of non-compliance with the directive, many companies based outside the EU have concerns about how the directive will impact their business and products, and what steps they have to take to ensure that there will be an EU market for their substances.
