Exporting/Importing to Saudi Arabia – Enforcement of newly published Technical Regulations from 27th May 2021
Further to our previous announcements regarding the Saudi Product Safety Programme (SPSP) for Saudi Arabia, we would like to inform you that the following Technical Regulations (TRs) which were published in the Saudi Gazette on 27th November 2020 will be strictly enforced starting from 27th May 2021 onwards (i.e. 6 months after the publication date):
- Doors, Windows and their accessories (TR No. MA-177-20-07-01)
- Footwear and accessories (TR No. MA-177-20-07-02)
With the enforcement date nearing, Intertek recommends that preparatory measures be taken in advance to submit qualifying documents that comply with the requirements of these new Technical Regulations, irrespective of whether they are applying for new Product Certificates of Conformity (P-CoCs) or applying for new Shipment Certificates of Conformity (S-CoCs) which will be based on existing valid P-CoCs issued by Intertek.
Intertek can provide its expert services to Clients to obtain the relevant Saudi Product Safety Programme (SPSP) Certification. Intertek is a SASO-approved Conformity Assessment Body for operating the new Programme for most of the Technical Regulations in the five regions.
