To be able to use substances in manufacturing of plastic materials and articles in European Union (EU) that are not under the scope of Article 6 or Annexes I or II of the Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, a submission of an application to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on substances to be used in plastic food contact materials is needed.
