‘Water Quality Modelling Prioritisation’
- A discussion about a data-based solution to asset investment prioritisation in the absence of available numerical modelling tools (for example when business planning cycles are not synchronised with environmental modelling programmes)
Author/Presenter: Rosie Wilson (Junior Consultant) – Rosie is a 2022 Plymouth University graduate with a first-class honours degree in BSc Marine Biology and Oceanography. She is a Junior Consultant with Intertek Energy & Water Consultancy Services, and in this role she has played a pivotal part in projects including water industry data and modelling studies, as well as Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental permits for various offshore projects, including cables, windfarms, and oil & gas endeavours in both UK and Irish waters. She has a growing range of experience in big data acquisition with one of her initial projects involving the comprehensive analysis and prioritisation of Combined Sewer Overflows, with a focus on risk assessment and complexity management.
Friday, December 8 at 12:10 PM
‘Improving Efficiency for Storm Overflow Assessment Framework to AMP8’
- A discussion about the application of water quality modelling tools to the AMP8 investment cycle, Intertek’s experience in using our own software (CATCHMENT-IMPACT), and its flexible application to the requirements of AMP8.
Author/Presenter: Ashley Silk (Senior Consultant) – Ashley is senior consultant at Intertek Energy & Water Consultancy Services with 8+ years of experience, and an expert in river water quality assessments. During his career he has been actively involved in many water quality investigations ranging from simple assessments, including a large number of SOAF investigations utilising Intertek’s CATCHMENT-OPTIMISER software, to complex Level 4 assessments using MIKE11. Ashley developed Intertek’s approach to SOAF assessments in riverine environments, utilising available catchment data and Intertek’s C-O software to quickly and efficiently assess their impact on water quality, and is currently leading the development of water quality approaches for AMP8.
