On 31st December 2008, the European Commission published the implementation of the UN GHS in the European Union, referred to widely as CLP. The CLP Regulation establishes how the internationally accepted United Nations GHS harmonized classification and labeling criteria (‘The Purple Book’) will be integrated into the European Community, and mixtures.
This workshop offers a hands-on review of the CLP Regulation and its practical implementation for classification & labeling practitioners and others in the chemicals supply chain that need to understand the changes and the challenges that will be faced.
Why should you participate?
- Learn about the structure of the CLP Regulation compared to UN Purple Book for GHS
- Hear about CLP and its relationship to the REACH Regulation
- Participate in a workshop on classification & labeling rules and their interpretation, supported by hands-on practical exercises covering the C&L of substances and mixtures
- Interest in the UN GHS will extend up and down the chemical supply chain from raw material supplier to retailer – hence non EU GHS regulations will be important to importers and exporters and similarities but also differences will be closely looked at
- The preparation of safety data sheets, product labeling, corporate health & safety practices, etc. will also be affected and will be a topic of interest
- The workshop will provide valuable learning for a wide variety of product safety practitioner’s involved in the generation, communication and interpretation of C&L information
