Intertek provides Energy-Related-Products (ErP Directive) compliance evaluations and declarations for mandatory CE Marking of Televisions according to the Television 642/2009 Implementing Measure (IM)
The IM for televisions (Lot 5) came into force on July 22nd, 2009 and is referred to as the Commission Regulation 642/2009. Televisions are defined as a television set or a television monitor. The amount of electricity a TV is allowed to use depends primarily on the size, a large TV is allowed a higher limit than a small.
Different Stages
The eco-design requirements for televisions will be enforced in four different stages, starting from 2009 until 2012. The purpose of the different stages is to gradually phase-out certain products that do not meet energy efficiency requirements. Any product falling into the scope of the IM sold on the EU market has to meet the ErP directive.
Intertek can assist you with verifying ErP compliance for your Televisions by providing you with full verification and a test report for your product’s technical file and Statement of Compliance for legal CE Marking. Contact us for more information.
