TAS 103: Test Procedure for Self-Adhered Underlayments for Use in Tile Roof Systems
Standard: TAS 103 – Test Procedure for Self-Adhered Underlayments for Use in Tile Roof Systems
Scope: This standard covers procedures for testing self-adhering, prefabricated, polymer modified bituminous, and solid thermoplastic sheet roofing materials intended for use as underlayment in Tile Roof Systems
Applicable Products: Self-adhered Roofing Underlayments
Test Procedure: Wind Uplift Resistance, Thickness, Dimensional Stability, Tear Resistance, Breaking Strength, Elongation, Low Temperature Flexibility, Ultraviolet Resistance, Accelerated Aging Performance, Cyclic Elongation Performance, Water Vapor Transmission, Compound Stability, Puncture Resistance, Tile Slip-page Resistance, Peel Resistance, Accelerated Weathering, Tensile Adhesion, and Granular Adhesion (if applicable).
End Result: A comprehensive sealed test report is issued at the completion of the testing. Self-adhered underlayments meeting the requirements of TAS 103 may be used in Discontinuous Roof Systems in High-Velocity Hurricane Zones.
