Scope: Per ASTM C1505: "This test method consists of determining the breaking strength and modulus of rupture of ceramic tiles and glass tiles using a three-point loading method."
Applicable Products: Ceramic tiles and glass tiles
Test Procedure: Each specimen is loaded face up onto two support rods. The loading rod is positioned at the midpoint between the two support rods. A load is applied at a constant rate of 145 psi per second until the specimen breaks.
End Result: This test results in the failure load as well as the breaking strength, average breaking strength and modulus of rupture of the specimens.
