Kevin Scaife, B.Sc., Senior Associate, Food & Nutrition Group
Kevin Scaife is a toxicologist in the Food and Nutrition group and has been with Intertek Health Sciences Inc. since 2018. He is actively involved in the preparation of successful regulatory submissions for food ingredients across multiple global jurisdictions and is also involved in the conduct of risk assessments for consumer products and assisting clients with their California Proposition 65 compliance needs. Kevin has been a key player in developing a systematic approach for safety evaluations and characterization of products produced via modern biotechnology using in silico methods. Kevin has attended and presented research at various scientific conferences including the Society for Risk Analysis and Society of Toxicology annual meetings.
Kevin graduated from the Toxicology program at the University of Guelph, during which he had the opportunity to conduct research under Dr. Cynthia Scott-Dupree, focusing on the phenology and distribution of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Halyomorpha halys), an invasive pest in southern Ontario, and to conduct toxicology bioassays using conventional and alternative insecticides.
Kevin had the opportunity to present thisresearch and won the President’s Prize at the Entomological Society of Ontario’s Annual General Meeting and the Dr. Ron Harris Undergraduate Poster Award at the Ontario Pest Management Conference. Kevin is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in bioinformatics at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
