Raquel Tranquada, Associate II
Raquel Tranquada joined Intertek Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy’s Chemicals Group in 2016 as the group’s Administrative Assistant. Her time in this role allowed her to gain a high-level understanding of how each of the teams within the Chemicals Group function together to meet the regulatory needs of their clients. This was very beneficial in her transition to Associate I in 2017 and into her current roles as Associate II where her strong organization and communication skills assist clients in efficiently and effectively bringing their products to market.
In her role as Associate II, Ms. Tranquada’s primary responsibilities include preparation and submission of regulatory submissions for pesticides, fertilizersand agrochemicals in North America, as well as the placement of physicochemical and toxicological testing to support these submissions andtesting to support new substance notifications in Canada and the EU. She acts as an effective liaison between clients and the testing laboratories. Ms. Tranquada works with our global team to assist clients to bringing their products to market on a global scale.
In addition, Ms. Tranquada has previously supported the hazard communication team by ensuring clients understand the requirements for consumer labelling in Canada (CCCR) and the United States (FHSA). Currently, Ms. Tranquada is a part of the Fertilizer & Supplement Advisory Committee which is made up of members from the fertilizer and supplement industry to work with the Fertilizer section of the CFIA, in order to shape the regulatory framework to get new and innovative products to market more efficiently.
Ms. Tranquada graduated from the University of Toronto with a HBSc. in Biology and Biological Anthropology.
