Ivy Tang, B.SC., Senior Regulatory Specialist
Ms. Tang joined Intertek in April 2022, bringing over 7 years’ experience in consulting and chemical product safety. Her primary responsibilities include SDS authoring, CCCR 2001 and FHSA hazard classification, preparing HMIRA applications, and TDG consulting.
In her previous role, Ms. Tang worked closely with clients in the specialty chemical industry, focusing on cleaning materials, home fragrances, and adhesives. Her understanding of workplace and consumer packaging and labeling requirements have helped businesses navigate product recalls and bring their products to market. Acting as a liaison between the government and industry, Ms. Tang is an effective communicator in both worlds.
Beyond the world of hazard communication, Ms. Tang has experience advising clients on the ever-changing CARB VOC regulations and carrying out CFIA premarket assessment and submissions for fertilizers and supplements. She has worked alongside Canadian vaping industry trade associations and stakeholders since 2020 to develop training and bring numerous businesses into compliance with the Vaping Products Labeling and Packaging Regulations.
Ms. Tang graduated from McGill University with an Honors B.Sc in Environmental Sciences. She is a recipient of the 2013 QSBC Biodiversity Science Discovery Award.
