Andrew Bae, Associate II
Within Intertek Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy’s Chemicals Group, Mr. Bae’s primary focus has been critical review of physical-chemical data for new substance notification projects under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), the Australian National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS), and other similar initiatives around the world. This includes the assessment of lab reports, preparation of waiver requests and alternative methodology reports using computer-based structure-activity relationship (SAR) models to meet the complex requirements for physical-chemical data prescribed under the various new and existing chemical notification programs.
Prior to joining Intertek in 2017, Mr. Bae worked as a regulatory chemist authoring and updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for in-house chemicals and generating appropriate hazard product labels according to regulatory compliance objectives including OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, European Union Directives CLP, GHS, REACH, WHMIS, Prop 65 and TSCA. Coming from industry, Mr. Bae understands industry’s need to balance technical, regulatory and financial considerations.
