Intertek offers lighting compliance solutions for the Lighting Efficiency and Toxics Reductions Act (AB 1109)
California Assembly Bill 1109 (AB 1109) enacted the California Lighting Efficiency and Toxics Reduction Act. This regulation prohibits, on and after January 1, 2010, a person from manufacturing for sale in the state specified general purpose lights that contain levels of hazardous substances prohibited by the European Union pursuant to the RoHS Directive.
The California Lighting Efficiency and Toxics Reductions Act further requires reductions in energy usage for lighting, encourages the use of more efficient lighting technologies, reduces hazardous waste in lighting, and increases recycling opportunities.
