EnergyGuide Label Testing

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Appliances and Commercial Equipment Standards Program develops test procedures and minimum efficiency standards for residential appliances and commercial equipment. Before a product can be sold, the manufacturer must submit energy use data to the DOE and FTC (Federal Trade Commission) stating that it complies with the regulations. They must also report to DOE and FTC when a new model is introduced or an existing one discontinued.
